形态特征：雌花2-3层；舌片平展或干时卷成管状，紫色，蓝色或有时橙色或白色；冠毛同形，外层极短，内层刚毛状。多年生草本，有地下茎或发育的茎基，或亚灌木。此组在我国有3个亚组。
